Addiction is a chronic, progressive disease that can affect anyone in any walk of life from any part of society. Whether addicted to alcohol or a substance that is classed as a ‘drug’ a person who is suffering with this condition needs to know that treatment is available, more importantly the treatment has GOT to be accessible.

A proven, structured treatment plan used extensively in the USA, Recovery Dynamics has been licensed by the Lazarus Centre as Recovery Dynamics UK. Teaching common sense, practical methods of 12-step treatment providing a solution for those who find that they cannot control their drinking, and those who find that they cannot use Drugs without causing harm to themselves or others. This treatment has been developed over the last 30 years by Alcoholics and Addicts for Alcoholics and Addicts.

The most famous treatment and first choice for people who may be classed as celebrities is 12-step recovery in a residential rehabilitation centre, it could be said that for such people “only the best will do”.

This treatment however is not accessible to the majority of people with this condition.

It is the Lazarus Centre’s aim to provide accessible 12-step recovery to anyone who suffers with Alcoholism/Drug Addiction at our Day Centre in Sunderland.

Recovery Dynamics is based on abstinence from Drugs/Alcohol, it is not harm reduction nor social drinking, harm ceases as the person learns how to live, how to cope without the need to use or drink. Additionally the 12-step program will provide on-going, life long support through the fellowships of Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous.
